We’re Back

Hi All,

An uneventful six day drive from Red Bay brought us back to Grand Teton.

We will be working the same Sun-Wed shift as previous years. We have a vehicle assigned only  to us so there is less worry about disinfecting the car between shifts.

Feels great to be back. Still a little apprehensive about dealing with unmasked visitors in close proximity. Time will tell.

Love,

Geek Alert- Virgin Galactic

Hi All,

With rampant Covid and White House corruption, many people feel an urgent need to escape. Virgin Galactic has a possible, though pricey option.

Six civilian astronauts will take off from a runway in New Mexico and fly up to 45,000 feet.

Once dropped from the carrier aircraft, the spaceship's rocket engine fires to launch the craft into outer space above 62 miles.

Six passengers will experience more than seven minutes of weightlessness.

Big windows provide outstanding views of the earth and the black sky of space.

When the spacecraft returns from space it returns to the airport in New Mexico,
Upon landing, all passengers get Astronaut wings. Reserve your flight now for $250,000!

Cross Country Update

Hi All,

Most of the repair work was successful in Red Bay. We also had a clear NW sky to catch a glimpse of comet Neowise.

Mostly we saw a fuzzy patch but exciting non the less.

A friend sent us this study result.

When we asked Ginger if she felt that way, she was non comital.

After two days driving from Red Bay, we took a rest day in Nebraska City, NE where we found a wonderful Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center.

We saw models of the 55' long Keel Boat

And the 41' Pirogue.

The center is on a bluff above the Missouri River, the last place the Corps of Discovery stopped for supplies.

Lewis & Clark were the first white men to see grizzly bears. This claw necklace was a gift from one of the native tribes they encountered.

The Center created some special social distancing signs.
We plan to arrive in Grand Teton on Wednesday, get our equipment and get to work!

Cuma, Summa & Moving On

Hi All,

We left Ding last week and are now in St Augustine. This wild turkey walked by a few minutes ago.

We had a wonderful Covid type visit with friend Evalyn yesterday , sitting in lawn chairs, 6+ feet apart in a beautiful riverside park .

On the way home we spotted this striking sign and stopped for some delicious take-out BBQ.

A few days ago we got an excited text from Tara and Scott. The diplomas had arrived in the mail. The gold box at the bottom says "CUM LAUDE".

This one says "SUMMA CUM LAUDE"
Congrats to Garrett and Wyatt.

Sadly we are not going to get to see them this trip. Last week the kids went to a large family gathering. Six attendees have since tested positive for Covid 19. Scott, Tara and the boys are OK but we mutually decided not to visit.

We have decided to head out to Grand Teton for August and September. In spite of the soaring new cases (see population adjusted graph below) Wyoming is a better place to be than Florida.

We close with another funny sign.
