Moving Day !

Hi All,

We bought this motorhome 15 years ago and have lived in it full-time for 12 years. It has been an extraordinary adventure but it is time to move on.

The IKEA order arrived last Monday and Carl had been assembling furniture since.

The bed with six storage drawers  and headboard came in seven boxes!

The mattress arrived Thursday and we spent Friday afternoon sorting books. Sandy said,"trust me there are three piles, keepers, donations and Carl needs to decide ".

Grilled chicken, baked potato and broccoli was our last dinner in the coach.

We spent this morning packing up final stuff in the coach and Alan, Barbara and her brother Lenny came with Lenny's van to help us move.

This will be the venue for future meals. This was actually taken Wednesday and Carl saw a dolphin swim past shortly after taking this photo
We are soooooow excited.

Our new snail mail address is:

Catching Up

Hi All,

It has been a hectic time following our condo closing. The household goods arrived from MA and we struggled to maneuver the furniture pieces and 70+ boxes to keep them out of the painter's way.

While waiting for the movers we enjoyed our first sunset from the condo.

Carl noticed a report from NASA regarding this photo from the Martian surface. They are recruiting Wildlife Brigaders for a mission to Mars to protect the bears.

We are now in Red Bay, AL for coach repairs and refurbishment prior to selling it.

It is pretty common for campgrounds to have TeePees for guests without RVs to stay in.

This is the first time we've seen one with water, electric and cable TV service.

Walking back to the coach after getting rid of the trash, Carl photographed our motorhome in the light of a full moon. Only later did we notice Sanibelle on the dashboard visible through the door.
We head home Friday and the first batch if IKEA furniture arrives Monday. We will move in once the bed and dressers are assembled!

Love,

Sandy & Carl

Great News from the Greenbaums!

Hi All,

The painter is almost finished and we are ordering furniture in earnest!

Even better news, we got an excellent report at Moffitt . The liver tumor is shrinking and the blood test that indicates the presence of tumor cells has dropped from 210 to 19. Too soon to see full effect of the procedure but doctor was very happy with the interim test results πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€. Next follow-up in 2 months.

Meanwhile, back in the condo, the stuff we stored in 2010 has been delivered and we are in Triage mode (Keep, Consign, Sell, Donate or Discard ). There's been a lot of,"Why did we keep this?" But plenty of nostalgic,"Gee, I forgot about this!"

If all of the above is not reason enough to smile

Thanks for all of your prayers and virtual hugs.

Love,
Sandy & Carl

It’s Finally Ours

Hi All,

We closed on the condo yesterday morning.

We now face an exciting whirlwind of activities to get the condo ready, order furniture, fly to MA to supervise loading of the stuff from our storage locker in Lowell and take the coach for one more trip to Red Bay , AL for repairs to maximize its salability.

We may not be living the motorhome much longer but we are definitely two very happy campersπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ.

Our new address is:
9 Haig Pl. Unit 301
Dunedin, FL 34698

We have a second bedroom and bath so call to make a reservation any time (after we get beds!)

Sunken Gardens

Hi All,

The condo closing was delayed from Monday to Friday. More paper needed to be pushed.
Tuesday we visited Sunken Gardens with Alan and Barbara.

In 1935 a plumber bought a 15' deep sinkhole and used his passion for gardening to turn it into a tropical paradise and one of early Florida's most famous roadside attractions.

Walking trails wind throughout the property.

Caged exotic birds include an Australian kookaburra and this Amazon parrot.

There is also a large flock of flamingos.

In addition to thousands of tropical trees and flowers, they replant tens of thousands of annuals every year.

Even in winter there were lots of beautiful blossoms

as well as a Koi pond with 18" to 24" fish.

We are doing well but eager to get moving (literally and figuratively).
Love,

Sandy & Carl

Catching Up

Hi All,

Happy New Year everyone. We moved to a much nicer campground on New Year's Day. We are now much closer to Dunedin. We close on the condo in 5 days and have been filling our day's furniture shopping and digging up documents for the mortgage lender.

Our nephew Nathaniel was visiting from MA and we got to spend time with him, here in Tarpon Springs.

On Christmas Day we had a terrific lunch at a new Turkish restaurant.  It looks like a pepperoni pizza but it is actually a wonderful baked hummus.

Ed & Diane Murray win the award for the cutest holiday image!

Happy Channukah

Sunset from the St Pete Pier.

One of the weirdest Astronomy images in a long time, a distant gas cloud looks like it is going to swallow an even more distant galaxy.

This is how we eat breakfast many mornings. Carl eats with one hand and pets Sanibelle with the other.
We are both stressed by all the changes happening in our lives but excited for the future.

Craft Fair Chuckles

Hi All,

As the holidays approached, every weekend was another Arts & Craft Fair. Sandy & Carl have great enthusiasm for craft fairs but virtually all of that enthusiasm resides in Sandy. Carl typically entertains himself looking for funny signs and T shirts to photograph and this season did not disappoint.

If you don't understand this one, ask an old person.
