Back to the Oregon Coast

Hi All,

It has been an interesting week including the flight from Boston, picking up the cat and coach then spending a few days in the Newport area before heading down to our volunteer location near Florence, OR.

Our Newport friends Bob Berman and Cindy Lippencott have been wonderful. A terrific dinner, lots of advice on local businesses and restaurants and even a loaner car when our CRV needed repair.

Today we drove south to Washburne State Park which will be our home for the next three months. The park is beautiful and the other volunteer couples were very welcoming. We start volunteering tomorrow at Heceta Head, showing visitors the sea birds and sea lions visible from the headland.

The sign at Cape Foulweather gift shop said the view was great in the gift shop. They were right.
