Return to Oslo

Hi All,

This morning we flew from Bergen to Oslo across the central mountains. After checking in to our hotel, we took the subway to Vigeland Sculpture Park. The 80 acre park contains 212 extraordinary sculptures by Gustavo Vigeland. Created between 1906 and 1942, the sculptures are an amazing display of intertwined human forms. The centerpiece, both literally and figuratively, is the obelisk. After the sculpture park we stopped for supper in a small Asian restaurant. Talk about hi-tech, the menu was displayed on an iPad like tablet, several languages available along with details and photos of each dish. We selected our dinners and ordered them right on the tablet. When we finished eating and were ready to leave, we pressed,"request check" and it was delivered promptly. Quite amazing. Our last stop was the Opera House, just a couple of blocks from our hotel. We were back to the hotel early since we have a long day flying back to Boston tomorrow.
