Amelia Island Car Auction 2016

Hi All,

Once again this year, Carl attended the auction preview for the RM Southeby auction on Amelia Island. Lots of beautiful classics and sports cars with a few odd though interesting pieces.

Unlike last year when British Jaguars, Austin Healeys and MGs seemed to dominate, this was the year of Italian cars.

Anyone care to test drive a Lamborghini?

Here's an "affordable" Ferrari a 1988 328 GTS that will probably sell for about $100,000. Too bad you have to remove the engine to do a $6,000 tune-up!

Got a little more to spend? This 1984 Ferrari 288 will likely hammer for north of $2,500,000!

How about a 1963 VW Microbus with matching camping trailer.

For you folks suffering from Downton Abbey withdrawal, this is a Bentley similar to the one Lady Mary's husband Harry raced

with a dashboard worthy of an aircraft.

By far the brassiest item was this amazing 1894 horse drawn, steam powered pumper. Geno, how's this for a lawn ornament?
Carl didn't buy anything, not even the 1958 Chevy like the one he had in 1965.

Love,
