4 Lazy F Ranch (w/photos)

Hi All,

One of many abandoned dude ranches in the park, this one is just north of headquarters.

Beautiful views from the entrance road.

Arrow leaf balsam root growing everywhere.

This cabin has views of the mountains

and the Snake River where raft tours drift past.

We have photographed this barn many times. Now that the restoration is complete it looks great.

Yellowstone may be flooded but we still have dry spots here.

Back in the coach, Sanibelle spotted a juinta ground squirrel. She is watching from among birthday and Father's Day cards.

Love,

Sandy & Carl

We are OK

Hi All,

Most of you have heard about the flooding and closure of Yellowstone. The heaviest rain stayed well north and we are fine although 34 degrees at 6 AM is unusual  in mmid June.

Lots of bears around

Storm clouds make for interesting mountain scenes.

We expect a lot of Yellowstone evacuees in Grand Teton where hotels and campgrounds are already booked.

Sunshine, Sun & Sorrow

Hi All,

We finally got almost clear skies and magnificent mountain view's. Too bad we were in training all day.

The sun was out at Kennedy Space Center as well. This stunning image is of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket passing in front of the sun.

A sad space related event was the dedication yesterday of a memorial to the Apollo 1 crew who died in the launch pad fire in 1967. The Latin inscription "Ad Astra per aspera" means, "To the Stars through difficulties "
No idea why this took 55 years.
