Hi All,
It seemed like a good plan. Attend High Holiday services Monday & Tuesday, Finnish packing and stowing stuff on Wednesday then depart on Thursday.
Monday evening we had a final campfire with some staff and volunteers from the Rockefeller Preserve. It is amazing how Anne and Larry cooked a stew and pineapple upside down in Dutch ovens in the campfire. However, notice the attire.
It was 40 degrees, a moderate breeze and intermittent rain/sleet.
The forecast for Wednesday and Thursday called for raw, windy weather and contained a four letter word beginning with "s"(2-4" of it).
Plan B was to skip services, do all the packing and get out of Dodge by 2pm for a short 200mile drive to Rock Springs.
Everything came together and we are now out of the snow forecast area with a day to spare as we head east.
We are intently watching the hurricane reports hoping all our friends and family on the east coast will be safe and dry.
Love,
Sandy & Carl
