Hi All,
The moose have been out almost continuously along Moose Wilson Road. On Monday we spent about five hours with this moose. Her calf is sitting in the high grass.
It was hot and tiring but the enthusiasm and excitement of the many visitors make it worthwhile.
On Sunday afternoon a lightning strike started a forest fire about 39 miles south of us. By Monday morning it had grown to 2300 acres and Jackson Hole was full of smoke. This comparison from the Moose entrance station shows the effect of the smoke.
By Tuesday evening the fire had grown to 6500 acres and several areas had been evacuated.
Then the power went out! Not related to the fire but spooky none the less. It is nice to live in a self contained motorhome with an inverter, generator and water tank.
Love,
Sandy & Carl
