Subject: Altitude Acclimitization
Hi All,
If you have followed us for a while, you know that we travel for two days then take a day off to visit a park or Wildlife Refuge. Two days driving west of Austin found us at Lathrop State Park in Southeast Colorado. We had a lovely pull through site with mountain view's .After dinner we went for a walk and were soon reminded that this park is at 6,400 feet elevation. Great acclimatization for Grand Teton.
This snow capped peak was visible out our window.
This place is not only high but also windy. We went for a hike around the lake in 25 mph wind this morning . Since we were hiking in a circle, we expected some time with the wind in our face and time with it at our backs. Sure didn't feel that way. Nice mountain scenery though

Meanwhile, in the Tetons, brigaders have grizzly bears coming out of their ears, including this sow with a tiny new cub.Sandy & CarlLiving & Traveling in our MotorhomeVolunteering across America617-435-8502
