Day 2 Part 2

Hi All,

After our Palace visit we walked to the river for a boat ride. Along the way we spotted this, either a novel artwork or a clever bike rack.

Along the river we spotted many small temples.
Overseas Adventure Travel is usually abbreviated "OAT". Our guide told us that on this trip, OAT means "Oh Another Temple".

The river and canals were full of these long tail boats, a huge automotive V-8 engine driving a shallow prop shaft. To steer, the boatman has to pivot the entire engine.

The bows of these long tail boats are decorated with flowers to protect the boatmen and passengers.

We passed a canal side cemetery. Perhaps the flowers do not work that well😉.

At first we thought this boat was on fire but it was a grill to cook food for sale along the canal.

Speaking of food, we had a delightful lunch at a canal side restaurant. Before lunch we got a Pad Thai cooking demonstration.
Guess what was for lunch?  Yum.

Love,
