As a constitutional monarchy, Cambodia has a king that reigns but does not rule. He does have a very nice Palace complex 😏.
A big gazebo for performances
and ornate, gold leaf everywhere.
The Buddhist pagoda on the grounds has a five foot tall emerald Buddha and a standing Buddha made from 200 pounds of GOLD with over 2,000 diamonds including ones of 25, 20 and 18 carats. No photos allowed. This is one of 4,000 Buddhist temples in Cambodia. There are over 60,000 monks!
The roof colors include yellow for Buddhism, green for the environment and blue for the monarch.
This stupa contains the ashes of the king's father, former King Norodom Sihanouk.
