Hi All,
We rode through the village for about 20 minutes and saw many emancipated cows. It is the end of the dry season, the cows which are fussy eaters have lost a lot of weight. The buffalos will eat anything so they fare better.

Next was a boat ride on Tonle Sap, the largest freshwater lake in SE Asia. We walked the plank to board the boat.

There is a huge floating village here. About 200 families and over 1,000 people. This house is typical, including a solar panel and TV antenna, several boats and a bamboo enclosed space under the house which is a fish farm. There is even a cell tower out here.

The elementary school consists of six classroom buildings with a gym/basketball court in the middle.

The water is so shallow this time of year that we had to take two smaller boats. This is the rest of our group.

While in the floating village we stopped to visit a family. The man is a rice farmer and the woman is the community midwife. Very interesting hearing about her training, tools and experiences.
Love,
Sandy & Carl
